Mission
Atelier B specialises in the framing, conservation, and presentation of artworks.
Our know-how applies to the framing and conservation of art; restoration and adaptation of antique frames and gilded wood; creation of bespoken moldings in shapes, colors, materials, and decorations made with the greatest care.
We master all traditional techniques and, always in a quest for excellence, seek new ways of presenting works of art or design objects by anchoring our contemporary look in the history of art and applied arts.
Mohamed Kahlia
Mohamed Khalia, a graduate of the Institut Supérieur de Peinture Decorative de Paris (IPEDEC) has more than twenty years of experience in the field of artistic crafts.
He worked ten years for the prestigious Mériguet-Carrère company in Paris as a decorative painter, workshop manager and team manager, restoring and decorating important buildings, including the Carrousel du Louvre, the Musée de la Marine, the École des Beaux-Arts, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, and the Château de Louveciennes, as well as numerous private hotels and luxury apartments in France and Europe.
Mohamed joined Atelier B in 2019, as an associate. He applies his knowledge , experience, and skilled craftsmanship to art framing, gilding, and decorative paintings (trompe-l’oeil and faux marble) on furnishing elements.
Belén Ferrier-Llamas
After training with Geneva’s distinguished antique dealer and framer André Buchs, Belén Ferrier opened Atelier B in 2003 and specialised in antique frames.
Mastering all the techniques related to framing, she has worked for numerous private collectors, galleries and other institutions such as the Gianadda foundation, the Musée de la Réforme, the Krugier gallery, Jacques de la Béraudière, Pictet, Rolex, and Fabergé.
Belén, very involved in the safeguarding of artistic crafts, regularly collaborates with artisans: sculptors, cabinetmakers, stationers, and lighting designers, as well as with the prestigious Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship. She is a founding member of La Asociación Contemporánea de Artes y Oficios, an organization devoted to the defense of artisan workshops in Spain, her homeland.
